Ann Brookes

As a tax attorney and member of the Westbrook Republican Town Committee, Ann Brookes is no stranger to fighting for everyday Americans.  For over twenty years, she has represented tax-stressed Connecticut families and small businesses before the IRS and CT Department of Revenue Services.  Time and again, Ann has negotiated on behalf of taxpayers and won!

As a member, and Finance Chair, of the Westbrook Republican Town Committee, Ann has supported the Republican ideals of limited government, fiscally responsible institutions and candidates, and upholding the Constitution.  Working with a diverse group of people, she has mastered how to hold fast to a core set of values while also uniting individuals with a broad-range of viewpoints on varying issues.

Ann’s fervor for government started when she was a young girl, though her family’s commitment to America’s strongest, most enduring values can be traced much farther.  As a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), Ann’s heritage dates back to the Colonial Era in New England and the founding of our great nation.

Ann holds a B.A. from Wheaton College in Norton, Massachusetts, a J.D. from Western New England College School of Law, and an LL.M. in Taxation from Villanova University School of Law.  Ann provided business development consultation to U.S. and foreign companies as well as government representatives.  During this time, she witnessed firsthand the failings within our current system and gained valuable experience in how to bring people together to solve vital issues.

Ann grew up in Glastonbury, Connecticut, located in Hartford County.  She volunteers regularly and is passionate about animal welfare.  Ann is proud of her work as a foster mom for Shaggy Dog Rescue, which provides an array of rescue services to abandoned dogs and places them in loving homes across Connecticut and the Northeast.  Ann currently resides in Westbrook with her two rescue dogs, Henry and Pippa.

Ann’s career of fighting on behalf of tax-stressed families and small businesses uniquely positions her to be the strongest candidate to represent Connecticut’s burdened taxpayers.  Ann is a strong advocate for fiscal policies that put Connecticut’s hardworking families and small businesses first.  Her experience and passionate drive make her the right candidate to alleviate the crushing debt and shocking tax load saddling our state.  It’s time for solutions.  Join Ann today, and become part of the team!
